Create a resource
To create a resource in Microsoft Exchange 2019, you must first have set up the administrator user for your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account. Once you have administrator rights, you can proceed as follows:
- Logging in to the Microsoft Exchange 2019 Management Tool:
- Log in to the Microsoft Exchange 2019 Management Tool. To do this, use the administrator login details for your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account.
- Accessing resource mailboxes:
- Click on the ‘Resource mailboxes’ tile.
- Creating a new mailbox:
- Select ‘New mailbox’.
- Configure resource settings:
- Select the necessary settings for your resource.
- Give the resource a name.
- Specify the resource’s email address.
- Select resource type:
- Optionally, you can select the resource type (room mailbox or equipment mailbox).
- Specify whether calendar conflicts or recurring meetings should be permitted.
- Add additional text to the automatic reply:
- If required, you can enter notes on how to use the resource in the ‘Additional text for the automatic reply’ field.
- Use advanced options:
- For additional settings, click ‘Advanced options’.
- Fill in the required fields and configure the desired optional settings.
- For a room mailbox, for example, specify the maximum duration of meetings, the room capacity and the maximum booking period.
- Optionally, you can specify that the room may only be used during working hours.
- Create resource mailbox:
- To complete the setup, click on ‘Create resource mailbox’.
