Enable IMAP / POP3

To configure your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account using IMAP or POP3 for use with email programmes such as Mozilla Thunderbird, follow these steps:

1. Logging in to the Microsoft Exchange 2019 Management Tool:
   • Log in to the Microsoft Exchange 2019 Management Tool using the email address linked to your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account and the corresponding password.
2. Accessing connection settings:
   • Click on ‘Connection settings’ in the tool.
3. Selecting the protocols (IMAP or POP3):
   • Tick the box next to IMAP or POP, depending on which protocol you wish to use.
   • If you wish to use both protocols in different email programmes, tick the boxes for both.
4. Saving the settings:
   • Click on ‘Save settings’.
5. Waiting for activation:
   • Please wait approximately 60 minutes for the activation to take effect on the centron servers.

Please note that IMAP enables continuous synchronisation with the server and keeps your emails up to date across different devices. POP3, on the other hand, downloads the emails and stores them locally, which means that changes are not synchronised across other devices. Choose the technology that best suits your needs.
