Migrate centron and AirMail mailboxes to Exchange
To migrate your existing Mail Basic and Mail Business mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange 2019, follow these steps:
- Renaming your email address:
- First, change the email addresses of your existing Mail Basic and Mail Business mailboxes by adding a suffix such as _old (e.g. max.mustermann_old@example.com).
- This change is necessary as an email address cannot be used for multiple accounts at the same time.
- For instructions on how to change your email address in your centron customer account, see ‘Change email address’.
- Setting up an email address for a Microsoft Exchange 2019 account:
- In the Microsoft Exchange 2019 contract, create the email addresses using the original names (e.g. max.mustermann@example.com).
- For instructions on setting up Microsoft Exchange 2019, see the article “Setting up Microsoft Exchange® 2019”.
- Please note:
- Please note that once renamed, the Mail Basic or Mail Business mailbox will no longer be accessible via the original email address.
- You must therefore ensure that you set up a corresponding Microsoft Exchange 2019 account for each mailbox.
- Migrating emails using the centron Email Migration tool:
- Once you have renamed the email addresses and created the new addresses in the Microsoft Exchange 2019 contract, migrate the emails and folders.
- You can find instructions for this under ‘Moving emails and folders to another centron email mailbox using the centron Email Migration tool’.
- Set up your Microsoft Exchange 2019 account in apps or applications:
- Delete the old account settings in the relevant app or application.
- Set up a new account for your Microsoft Exchange 2019 mailbox in the desired apps or applications.
- Step-by-step instructions for various apps and applications can be found under ‘Microsoft Exchange 2019’.
By following these steps, you will successfully migrate your existing mailboxes to Microsoft Exchange 2019.
