iOS: Installing MS Outlook & Setting up an email account

In this article, you’ll learn how to set up the Microsoft 365 Outlook app on your iPhone or iPad to send and receive emails.

Prerequisites​

Downloading and installing Microsoft Outlook​

  1. Open the Apple App Store.

  2. Install Microsoft Outlook.

Setting up a Microsoft 365 email account in Microsoft Outlook for iOS​

  1. Launch the Outlook app on your iOS device.

  2. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.

  3. Open the menu by tapping your account icon in the top left-hand corner. This is either a user picture or the first letter of your name.

  4. Tap the cog icon for Settings in the bottom-left corner of the menu bar.

  5. In the ‘Email accounts’ section, select the ‘Add email account’ link > ‘Add email account’.

  6. Enter the new email address and complete the process by clicking ‘Add account’. Outlook will now automatically attempt to identify the correct email provider and access type. If this is not possible, an overview page will be displayed showing various providers and a manual configuration option via IMAP. Your email provider will supply you with the IMAP/POP3 and SMTP details.

  7. Complete your entries by clicking ‘Log in’.
