Apple Mail app
This article explains, step by step, how to set up your email account using the Apple Mail app.
Required information
- Email account; in our example, we are using hallo@centronhosting.de
- Password for the email account
- Incoming and outgoing mail servers
- Mail server ports; you can find these in the instructions
Step 1
Open the Mail app and enter your name, email address and the corresponding password. Then click on ‘Sign in’.
Step 2
Now select ‘Other email account …’ and click ‘Continue’.
Step 3
Start by entering your email address – if it hasn’t been automatically filled in – in the ‘Email address’ and ‘Username’ fields, followed by the corresponding password. Below that, enter your incoming and outgoing mail server details, then click ‘Log in’.
You will receive the name of your new server by email. It is usually different from the mail server shown in the screenshots.
Step 4
Next, select which apps you’d like to link to this account and click ‘Done’.
Step 5
Your email account has now been successfully linked.
