Creating distribution lists
Create distribution lists (email lists) in centron WebPanel: create a mailing list, add members, set the posting mode (public, members only, announcements) and, if required, enable SMTP authentication.
Email lists
An email list allows you to reach several recipients at the same time. Emails sent to an email list are forwarded in the same way as with an email alias, but to multiple recipients.
Create an email list
- On the home page, select ‘Email lists’
- Click ‘Create mailing list’ in the top right-hand corner
- Enter the desired name
- Select the domain using the drop-down menu
- Use the posting mode to specify who is allowed to send messages to this list
- Public: Anyone can send messages to the list
- Membership: Only members (‘recipients’) can send messages to the list
- Announcements: Only specified members may send to the list
- Authorised members are defined using the email address in the ‘Email announcements’ field
- Enter the members (email addresses) to whom the emails are to be forwarded
- Optional: If you select ‘SMTP authentication required’, the user must authenticate with the mail server before an email is sent
- Click ‘Save’ to confirm your details
