Adding and removing files
Instructions for uploading, downloading, deleting and searching for files in the centron and S3 Object Storage via the Control Panel.

Uploading files
Size limits: Due to browser limitations, uploads via Control Panel work best with files smaller than 2 GB, grouped in batches of fewer than 100 files. For larger files and batches, you can use a third-party client or the centron API.
Uploading files
On your bucket’s main page, you can upload files in two ways:
Drag-and-drop: Allows you to add files, folders and items within folders.
Select Files to Upload: Opens a window allowing you to add files from your local computer, but does not support adding folders.
Upload window: In the upload window, you can set the file permissions for all tagged files. You can use the ‘X’ button next to each item to remove files or folders. Folders and their contents are treated as a single unit, so removing a folder here will remove both the folder and all the files and folders it contains.
Start upload: Click on "Upload Files" to upload the tagged items with the selected permissions.
Download files
Start download: To download a file from a bucket to your local computer, open the file’s “More” menu and select “Download”. Depending on your browser settings, the download may start automatically or you may be prompted to save the file first. The file can also be opened in your browser, depending on the file type and your browser.
Deleting files

Delete file: To delete a file from a bucket, open the file’s “More” menu and select “Delete”. Deletions are permanent, so you must confirm the deletion in the window that opens before the item is actually deleted.

Deleting multiple files: You can delete several files at once by opening the ‘Actions’ menu and clicking ‘Delete’. You will also be prompted to confirm the deletion here.
Search for files
Search function: To search a bucket for a specific file, go to the "Files" tab for that bucket and enter the file name in the search bar. This will display all files in the current directory that begin with the matching string.
Search restrictions: The search function only supports prefix searches, i.e. it only returns files whose names begin with the search string. There is no wildcard character for wildcard searches. Furthermore, only files in the current directory are returned; in other words, it is not possible to search within folders.
