My traffic has been blocked – what should I do?

In the event of a blockage, where your traffic is no longer being routed correctly, you should take appropriate action and, if necessary, contact support.

How do I disable IPv6?

IPv6 can be disabled by making changes to the network interface configuration of your ccloud³ VM.

How do I create a ccloud³ VM without a private IP address?

You can disable the address on your ccloud³ VM via the command line or by updating the eth1 interface configuration.

How do I access the file manager on my ccloud³ VM?

You can access the file manager on your ccloud³ VM by connecting via SSH or the ccloud³ VM console.

My Ubuntu ccloud³ VM lost all its network connections following a software update.

Please ensure that the public and private network interfaces on your ccloud³ VM are correctly named eth0 and eth1.

Can I use the IP address of my ccloud³ VM as a reserved IP address?

It is not possible to convert a ccloud³ VM-IP to a reserved IP.

Can I attach a volume to several ccloud³ VMs?

No, but you can add an additional layer to your ccloud³ VM using a mounted volume.

How do I set up daily ccloud³ VM backups?

You cannot change the frequency of ccloud³ VM backups, but you can create daily snapshots of your ccloud³ VMs via Premium Full Managing or the API.

Can I undo the restoration of a ccloud³ VM from a backup?

Restoring a ccloud³ VM from a backup cannot be undone, but you can use an existing snapshot to restore a ccloud³ VM to an earlier point in time.

Why does my ccloud³ VM have a US-based IP address even though I created it in a different region?

All ccloud³ VMs are assigned IP addresses from the centron address range; they are operated at the Hallstadt data centre in Germany.

Why does my ccloud³ VM show almost 100% disk usage, even after I’ve added a new volume?

Adding a volume to your ccloud³ VM does not increase its primary disk size. You must upgrade the ccloud³ VM to increase its primary disk size.

Can I downsize my ccloud³ VM?

You cannot downgrade ccloud³ VMs to smaller plans, but you can migrate your data to a smaller ccloud³ VM.

Can I run Windows on a ccloud³ VM?

No, Windows is not supported on ccloud³ VMs.

How can I delete my ccloud³ VMs whilst keeping my backups?

Deleting a ccloud³ VM will also delete the backups. You should back up your data first.

How can I migrate my data from my current provider?

You can point several domains to a ccloud³ VM and run several websites from it.

Why is SMTP blocked?

centron blocks SMTP port 25 to prevent spam and other misuse of our platform.

Has my ccloud³ VM migration been completed?

You can check whether the migration of a ccloud³ VM has been completed by checking its history.

Can I download a backup or a snapshot?

At present, you cannot download backups or snapshots from centron, but you can use third-party tools to store your data locally.

How do I back up my ccloud³ VM manually?

You can back up a ccloud³ VM manually by using centron snapshots or backups, or alternatively by using a third-party tool such as rsync or SFTP.

How do I transfer a ccloud³ VM to another user?

You can transfer snapshots of ccloud³ VMs to other users, who can then recreate the ccloud³ VM on their account from the snapshot.

How long will it take for my backup or snapshot to complete?

Creating a backup or snapshot takes approximately 2 minutes per GB of storage space used.

How can I ensure that my ccloud³ VM is protected against Intel’s MDS vulnerability?
