Monitoring as a Service

Monitoring-as-a-Service (MaaS) collects metrics from your VM at various levels.

MaaS can only be booked as part of Premium Full Managing. This means that centron manages the entire VM and therefore also monitors the health of the system.

centron monitors the health of your virtual instances. These checks range from IPMI to NSC and SSH to ensure your systems run smoothly.

Prerequisites

Availability of metrics

The collection of monitoring metrics begins when a new instance is deployed. However, the first metrics are not available immediately after deployment. It takes around 10 minutes for the first metrics to be collected and made available in ccenter or via the API. Once these first 10 minutes have elapsed, you can retrieve metrics at any time.

MaaS with Premium Full Managing

If you have subscribed to Premium Full Managing, you can view the key metrics in the server details view under Server Overview > Performance.

In this section of the server details view, you can view and filter CPU, network, storage and RAM metrics across different time periods.

Advanced Monitoring

If you decide to manage your VM yourself, you can monitor your instance using Advanced Monitoring.

To do this, go to Server Details > Advanced Monitoring. This add-on is added to the VM’s monthly bill. Once you have enabled Advanced Monitoring for your VM, you will be redirected to a separate interface where you can manage various metrics for your VM.
