Tags​

Tags are user-defined labels that you can assign to ccloud³ VMs and which serve a number of purposes:

  • Filtering: Tagging multiple ccloud³ VMs with the same label allows you to organise your resources and view a filtered list of ccloud³ VMs that share that specific label.
  • Automatic inclusion in firewall rules and load balancer backend pools: Automatically include ccloud³ VMs in a firewall or load balancer configuration by using tags to minimise the administrative effort involved in adding new ccloud³ VMs to your infrastructure.
  • Executing API calls on multiple ccloud³ VMs simultaneously: Initiate an action across all ccloud³ VMs with the same tag using the centron API. Identifying groups of ccloud³ VMs and managing them simultaneously reduces the time required to manage resources.

Reserved IPs​

centron Reserved IPs are publicly accessible static IP addresses that you can assign to ccloud³ VMs. A reserved IP provides an additional static address that you can use to access a ccloud³ VM without replacing or changing the ccloud³ VM’s original public IP address.

Volumes: Block Storage​

centron Volume block storage is a flexible and convenient way to manage additional storage (in units known as volumes) for your ccloud³ VMs. Volumes are independent resources that you can move between ccloud³ VMs within the same region. You can increase the size of a volume without shutting down the ccloud³ VM to which it is attached. They are particularly useful if you need more storage space but do not require the additional processing power or memory that a larger ccloud³ VM would provide.

Firewalls​

The centron Cloud Firewalls are a free, network-based, stateful firewall service for your ccloud³ VMs. They block all traffic that is not explicitly permitted by a rule. You can define the ccloud³ VMs protected by a firewall individually or using tags.
