Project Basics

Projects allow you to group and organise your centron resources in a way that suits your working style. For example, you can create projects based on your applications, environments (e.g. Dev/Stage/Prod) or customers that you manage on centron.

To begin with, all resources are located in a single default project. You can later move resources between projects, either individually or in batches. New projects can also be populated with existing resources as soon as they are created.

To create a new project in Control Panel, click on + New Project in the left-hand menu. The process consists of two steps:

1. Create Project

Enter a name, a description and the purpose of the project, then click on ‘Create Project’.

2. Move resources

Search for existing resources in the input field and select them – or click ‘Skip for now’ if you wish to assign resources later.

You can switch between projects by clicking on the relevant project name in the left-hand side menu; these are listed in the Projects section. You can move resources within the selected project using the grey ‘Move Resources’ button in the top right-hand corner. This removes the resource from its previous project and adds it to the selected project.

Resources that are project-specific must always be assigned to a project. If you wish to remove such a resource from a project, you can either delete it or move it to another project.

The default project is displayed at the very top of the project list in the main menu. If you wish to set a different project as the default, select it from the menu on the left, open the ‘Settings’ section and tick the box marked This is my default project.

A project can only be deleted if it no longer contains any resources and is not set as the default project. Deletion is also carried out in the Settings tab.
